Hamza Riazuddin hit the winning runs from the penultimate ball of the match as Hampshire beat Glamorgan in dramatic fashion in Cardiff.
Resuming on 112-4 needing 92 to win, the visitors were made to wait with play delayed by rain until 1615 BST.
Michael Bates was dismissed before a single run had been added on the fourth day and the wet weather then returned.
But with the match reduced by another 10 overs, Sean Ervine hit 75 off 92 balls before Riazuddin secured victory.
Ervine was dismissed 13 balls from the end but Riazuddin and Danny Briggs knocked off the remaining 14 runs off 13 balls.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Hampshire's Sean Ervine told BBC Radio Solent:
"It's an awesome feeling and it's been a long time coming. In the last three or four years we've not started the season well.
"It was an incredible game of cricket. I couldn't watch the last over.
"We were in prime position in most of the game and we felt we deserved to win but credit to the umpires for getting the teams out there."
VIEWS FROM THE COMMENTARY BOX
BBC Radio Wales cricket correspondent Edward Bevan:
"Glamorgan went down to their third successive championship defeat by two wickets in an exciting finale. There was only one ball of the game remaining when the Hampshire batsmen struck the winning runs.
"Glamorgan, however, will look back at their inability to post a commanding first innings total and then they lost six wickets for 46 runs in their second inninings.
"They will need to regroup as they prepare for their next game against Gloucestershire which starts in Bristol next Thursday."
BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James:
"Rain on the last day threatened to ruin the chance of victory for both sides.
"In the end the short run chase suited Hampshire with Sean Ervine outstanding and Hamza Riazuddin keeping his head in the last over when eight was needed, hitting a four over long on and then a two off the penultimate ball.
"This win is a massive confidence booster for Hampshire."
