Former bowler Kevin Dean lands Derbyshire role
Derbyshire have appointed their ex-pace bowler Kevin Dean onto their committee.
Dean spent his entire career with Derbyshire, making his first-class debut in 1996 and retiring in 2008 .
The 36-year-old claimed more than 400 wickets during that time and now captains Derbyshire Premier League champions Ockbrook and Borrowash.
Chairman Chris Grant said: "As someone who has only recently retired from the game, he will be an excellent source of support and advice."
Dean took 401 first-class wickets in total, at an average of 26 and a further 181 limited overs victims.
Grant added: "When evaluating co-opted appointees, we are looking for individuals who can add real value to our decision-making process and contribute fully to moving Derbyshire forward.
"I am delighted to welcome him to the General Committee."
