Batsman James Vince has urged Hampshire to maintain their winning run as they look to secure a FL t20 quarter-final place with a win at Surrey on Friday.

Hampshire, who sit top of the South Group, beat Essex on Wednesday to clinch their fifth consecutive T20 win.

"We want to keep the momentum going and keep winning all the way to the quarters," Vince told BBC Radio Solent.

"Surrey have got a good side and good players so we don't want to take our foot off the pedal."

Hampshire have not lost at the Rose Bowl in T20 cricket since their defeat by Middlesex on 16 July last year and Vince says it is important to make their home ground a fortress.

"We're on a roll now and playing with confidence and that's a big factor because if you go into the game with confidence other sides fear you," said the 20-year-old.

"Winning is a habit, we've proven that we're making here a fortress as we've been unbeaten here for a while now.

"It's always nice playing at home in front of your own supporters so it definitely helps."
