Nixon leads Leicestershire to win over Worcestershire
Friends Life t20, Grace Road
Leicestershire 151-8 beat Worcestershire 132-7 by 19 runs
Paul Nixon hit 44 as Leicestershire fought back to beat Worcestershire by 19 runs at Grace Road.
Having been reduced to 58-5, the hosts were indebted to veteran Nixon and Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq (20) with a sixth-wicket stand of 54.
Opener Josh Cobb had earlier hit 30 off 16 balls as the Foxes ended on 151-8.
Paceman Razzaq then claimed 2-16 as Worcestershire were restricted to 132-7 despite the efforts of James Cameron (36) and Moeen Ali (32).
Second-placed Leicestershire's first home win in the Twenty20 in two years puts them within two points of North Group leaders Nottinghamshire.
It also gives them a three-point cushion ahead of Durham and Worcestershire, with seven group games to go, as the twice Twenty20 winners further cement their bid for a place on finals day at Edgbaston on 27 August.
