Berkshire's Bjorn Mordt eyes Minor Counties double

Berkshire captain Bjorn Mordt says his side are determined to win the Minor Counties Cup and Championship double this season.

Berkshire, who were runners-up in the Western Division last year, face Suffolk in the MCCA Trophy on Sunday.

"We want to win the double," the 32-year-old Zimbabwean told BBC Berkshire.

"We've got a strong team and it's all about playing good cricket upfront, we've had a good start to the season so we just aim to continue that really."

Berkshire last won the Championship in 2008 and narrowly missed out on securing the title again last year after losing to Cornwall by three wickets on the final day of the season.

But Mordt believes his side have what it takes to replicate their past success, starting with their cup clash against Suffolk this weekend.

"It's going to be a tough game, Suffolk are a good team. They are full of professionals so it's going to be difficult," said Mordt.

"But the way we started the season, if we play cricket like that then we'll be a match for anyone."
