Theophane needs one more successful defence to earn a Lonsdale belt
Ashley Theophane and Chris Edwards retain British titles
Ashley Theophane survived a scare to defeat Ben Murphy and retain his British light-welterweight title.
Murphy, a late replacement after Nigel Wright failed a medical, had much the better of the early stages.
Theophane managed to reverse the tide in the sixth round, but Murphy was still ahead with the judges when the champion forced an 11th-round stoppage.
Meanwhile, British flyweight champion Chris Edwards earned a comfortable points victory over Shinny Bayaar.
The win gave Edwards a measure of revenge on Bayaar, who took the title off the Stoke-on-Trent fighter on a split decision in October 2009.
