Leicester Riders have signed ex-England and Great Britain star Yorick Williams.

The 36-year-old has been training with the Riders for three months and has been signed as cover after John Griffin's return to the United States.

Williams was registered in time to score five points and weigh in with three assists in Saturday's 92-79 win over Durham Wildcats  .

"He is bringing a lot of knowledge with his experience and undoubted talent," said Riders coach Rob Paternostro.

Williams, who was released by Milton Keynes Lions at the end of last season, has played for seven BBL clubs, including Riders in the 2006-07 season.

Paternostro added: "Yorick is someone I know very well, having played alongside him twice in my career.

"He is bringing a lot of knowledge with his experience and undoubted talent.

"I thought we needed to get a look at him in the game situation with the team to see what he can bring to Riders.

"We have a lot of games coming up and I want to consider all our options."
