1724:
That brings us to the end of our London Diamond League coverage. Monaco is the last meet before that little old event this summer on 20 July. Tune in to live coverage on BBC Three and the BBC Sport website from 19:00 BST. Thanks for joining me.
-
1716:
The men's triple jump, without British star Phillips Idowu who pulled out from injury, was won by American world champion Christian Taylor with 17.41m. There wasn't really anyone close to him - noone else managed a jump over 17m. Leevan Sands took second (16.97m), Tosin Oke third (16.93m).

Ohiogu Musa: Did Wells really win the 100m hurdles ahead of the 'unbeatable' Pearson? In fact I can't wait for the Olympics to start. #bbcathletics
Robert Butterwick: Well done ohuruogu great race bring on London 2012 #bbcathletics #london2012
Kelly: Wow, feeling sorry for those poor athletes running in that hammering rain! #BBCAthletics
-
1710:
I hope the rain, or should I say tropical rainstorm, didn't dampen your spirits this afternoon. We were treated to some brilliant British performances - from Goldie Sayers breaking the British javelin record, a bold third place for Andrew Osagie in the 800m, and of course Christina Ohuruogo's heroics in the 400m. I bet not many of you predicted the great Sally Pearson being defeated by Kellie Wells in the 100m hurdles.
-
1700:
That was dramatic, wasn't it? Ohuruogo battles past the 400m world champion Amantle Montsho in the final 20m as the crowd energetically cheers her on. Great performance. After all the ups and downs of the previous three years, Britain's reigning Olympic champion looks ready for London 2012.
-
Christine Ohuruogo was delighted with her victory in a dramatic 400m: "I am happy with that. It was about putting together a good race and I am getting there now. I can't complain about anything, I am fit and ready for the Games and looking forward to it."
-
1653:
Amantle Montsho took an early lead and looked to be pulling ahead around the top bend. But as the rain lashed down, Christine Ohuruogu kept her form to pounce on Montsho in the home straight and cross the line in her best time of the season, 50.42s.
-
1652:CHRISTINE OHURUOGU WINS 400m
-
1650:
Big cheer from the south London crowd for reigning Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu. She responds with a smile and a wave. They take to their blocks...
-
1647:LIVE NOW
Christine Ohuruogu takes a last sip from her water bottle as she lines up on the 400m start line. Eyes focused. Pacing back and forth. Deep breaths. It's a competitive field she's up against with Botswana's Amantle Montsho.
-
Kellie Wells, fresh from her shock 100m hurdles victory, told BBC Sport: "My coach, after the Olympic trials, worked hard on breaking my race down, hurdle by hurdle, and I am feeling good. I am so excited about the Games, it's my first. I love London - the shopping is amazing and so are the crowds. I love them."
-
1643:
Kellie Wells pumps her fist and shows-off her dance moves to the Crystal Palace fans, clearly delighted with her win over the formidable Sally Pearson. Wells's crossed the line in 12.57s, while Pearson clocked 12.59s. So many had already hung the 2012 Olympic gold medal around Pearson's neck but I'm not sure it's that certain anymore.
-
1641:KELLIE WELLS WINS 100m HURDLES
-
1637:STARTING SOON
Here comes the showpiece event - the 100m hurdles with world champion Sally Pearson. Can anyone beat her? The sprinters are just being introduced to the Crystal Palace crowd. Tune into BBC One now to watch it live on your tellybox.
-
Colin Jackson, BBC Sport athletics pundit"That was not fast at all by the Brits. That is nearly our best team - Adam Gemili could come in for Mark Lewis-Francis - but Jamaica, France and the USA can put out faster teams. At one stage, we dreamed those lads could bring a medal home - but not anymore."
-
1631:TRINIDAD & TOBAGO WIN 4X100m RELAY
Phew, the British quartet got the baton around safely. They could only manage fouth, mind you, but it's something positive to build on. Trinidad & Tobago streaked ahead in the home straight in 38.23s ahead of the Netherlands (38.70s).
-
Fresh from her new British javelin record, Goldie Sayers told BBC Sport: "I felt good and I knew there was a good throw in me. I think there is more to come, but today is one where I have to enjoy the moment."
-
1625:GOLDIE SAYERS BREAKS BRITISH JAVELIN RECORD
We like records. We like them even more when they're broken by British athletes. Sayers's throw of 66.17m is a great pre-celebration of her birthday on Monday.
-
Blessing Okagbare was delighted with her victory in the 100m: "I have been waiting so long to break 11 seconds. I did not expect that time today and it gives me great confidence going into London 2012. I am happy to be in the mix."
-
1621:
I'm not sure many were expecting Okagbara to defeat the reigning world and Olympic champions Carmelita Jeter (11.03s) and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (11.13s) but she did. And she did it well.
-
1620:BLESSING OKAGBARE WINS WOMEN'S 100m - 11.01s
-
1617:STARTING SOON
Can I tempt you in a little sprinting action? It's world champion Carmelita Jeter versus Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce up next on the track...

-
1611:ANCUTA BOBOCEL WINS 3,000m STEEPLECHASE
Briton Barbara Parker ran a solid race to finish third but it was Bobocel who stole the show in 9:27.24.
-
Marilyn Okoro, who finished fourth in the 800m, tells BBC Sport: "I was in the mix, I came into the race with so much weight so it was important for me to turn out and not shy away. It's been a tough few weeks and I'm glad I come out and did well." Okoro missed out on Olympic selection in the 800m, but will run in the 4x400m relay team and she added: "I am really disappointed, but my focus is now the 4x400m. I am still going to get an Olympic chance in London and I have to build on that."
-
1601:LATEST GOSSIP
Phillips Idowu speaks. After pulling out of today's triple jump competition, Britain's 2008 Olympic silver medallist has addressed his fans on social media website Twitter: "Hey guys, sorry to have to pull out of #ALGP, slight bit of muscle tightness. I will be fine in a day or 2. Hope the other jumpers put on a great show for you. See you 7th aug. thanks for your support."
-
1555:MOLLY BECKWITH WINS 800m
We almost needed a photo-finish there, as Beckwith and Janeth Jepkosgei crossed the line together. They finish in the same time of 2:00.68 but it's given to Beckwith by a nose hair. Marilyn Okoro finishes fourth (2:01.32).
-
1551:
Next up the women's 800m. After all the hullabaloo of British athletics head coach Charles van Commenee choosing Lynsey Sharpe as the sole women's 800m representative for the Games, this race is one to watch. It's all live on BBC One, by the way.
-
1545:SILAS KIPLAGAT WINS MEN'S MILE - 3:52.44
Kiplagat didn't look like losing his lead in the home straight but what about Ross Murray? Stormed down the home straight with about 80m to go to grab a brilliant second place finish in a personal-best of 3:52.77.
-
1541:
Madness in the men's mile as they have not one, but two - yes two - false starts. They're off now, though. Three or so minutes to go.
-
Tom Fordyce, Chief sports writer, BBC SportOn Twitter: Brilliant from @goldiesayers - new GB record of 66.17m. Biggest noise from the crowd all afternoon, quite rightly so
-
Kirani James, following his victory in the 400m: "It was good, a very competitive race and now I need to get ready for the Games. I am getting used to the environment and the weather in London and I am ready for the big one."
-
1529:KIRANI JAMES WINS 400m
The world champion from Grenada is back. Powerful running from James, he looks to be back to his world-beating best (44.85s). Chris Brown of the Bahamas was second ahead of America's Tony McQuay. Nigel Levine was the best-placed Brit in fourth (45.27s).
-
1523:CHRISTOPHE LEMAITRE WINS 200m
Blazing through the cold and wet, Lemaitre runs his fastest 200m of the season in 19.91s. Churandy Martina of the Netherlands second, Jamaica's Marvin Anderson third. And a positive run from GB's Danny Talbot in fourth (20.59s), with Christian Malcolm and James Ellington seventh and eighth.
-
Jonathan Edwards, BBC Sport"When I turned up at the track this morning, I asked myself 'would I have wanted to jump today?' and the answer was no. Phillips probably didn't fancy it, but there is nothing to worry about [with injury]. It's cold, damp and he doesn't want to take any risks. We will forgive him everything if he jumps well in London."
-
1520:
After denying injury reports and insisting there was no problem, Phillips Idowu has admitted there is a problem. His back. He pulls out of the triple jump competition meaning by time the athletics kicks-off at the Games, he won't have competed competitively for weeks.
-
Denise Lewis, BBC Sport"This is Phillips being Phillips, he likes to control things and do them his way. If he is hurt, he should rest and prepare himself as he sees fit. It's too late in the day to be thinking about crowds etc, this has to be about Phillips."
-
1512:PHILLIPS IDOWU PULLS OUT OF TRIPLE JUMP
-
Andrew Osagie was delighted with his third place finish: "This was my penultimate race before the Olympics and I wanted to try something different, put myself under pressure. I am happy, I am exactly where I want to be now. I have done enough in my head, and I couldn't be any more confident."
-
Brendan Foster, Olympic bronze medallist and BBC commentator"It was another solid performance, a good race, from Andrew Osagie. He just found two men who were better than him today, but I don't think he has anything to worry about after that performance. I don't think he will be too far away from the Olympic final."
-
1506:ANDREW OSAGIE THIRD IN 800m
Sudan's Abubaker Kaki was the favourite but it was Poland's Adam Kszcot who finished strongly to take the win in 1:44.49 ahead of Job Kinyor (1:44.60).
-
1503:
On the start-line now is a host of British talent for the 800m - Andrew Osagie, Gareth Warburton and Mukhtar Mohammed. Here we go...
-
1459:
Denise Lewis, BBC Sport"That was a rare sight - we have not seen anyone come that close to Sally Pearson across the last couple of seasons. Pearson has completely dominated for the last two years."
-
1454:SALLY PEARSON WINS 100m HURDLE HEAT
Pearson was quickest to the first hurdle as we have come to expect from the Austrailian world champion. Pearson looked to be running away with it until a late surge from the USA's Kellie Wells. Pearson managed to hang on. Just.
-
1450:TIFFANY PORTER PULLS UP IN 100m HURDLE HEAT
Porter is inconsolable after the race after pulling up after the sixth hurdle. BBC Sport's Phil Jones on BBC One: "I just spoke to Tiffany as she was leaving the track - she said she was not 100% healthy at the moment, she did not want to specify the injury but did say she would be OK by the time the Games start." Virginia Crawford won the heat in 12.62s.
-
1444:ROBBIE GRABARZ FINISHES RUNNER-UP IN HIGH JUMP
The European Champion is unable to continue the incredible form that has seen him rise to third in the world rankings. Grabarz managed a best of 2.22m behind Derek Drouin of Canada (2.26m). Two other Britons - Tom Parsons and Samson Oni - weren't far behind him in third and fifth respectively.
-
1436:DAVID WEIR DOMINATES T53/54 800m
Weir never looked like losing that, and the crowd expected nothing less from the six-time London Marathon champion. Weir, who crossed the line in 1:45.12, said: "I got a little bit nervous as the crowd roared, it was a good race. I am probably the man to beat but there are a number of others who are tucked away training. I love racing in front of a home crowd so I can't wait (until the Games)."
-

I do hope I'm not talking to myself. That would be embarrassing. I'd be grateful for your input so please get in touch, won't you? Use #bbcathletics on Twitter and let me know what you think of today's action. Who will win the 100m tussle between Carmelita Jeter and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce? Can Phillips Idowu overcome world triple jump champion Christian Taylor?
-
1422:
That was smooth from Carmelita Jeter, despite stumbling a little out of the blocks. The world 100m champion eased through the line in 11.01s with fellow American Tianna Madison behind her (11.06s). Briton Margaret Adeoye was off the pace in last but with a season-best time of 11.53s.
-
1416:
Looks like I spoke too soon about the sunshine. Reliably as ever, the British rain has begun to fall in Crystal Palace but that didn't put off Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who cruised through her 100m heat in 10.93s. Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare trailed behind in a personal-best time of 10.99s.
-
Tom Fordyce, Chief sports writer, BBC SportOn Twitter: Smashing it down at Crystal Palace. Bearing in mind the amount of rain hitting my laptop and phone, this may be the last Tweet I ever send
-
1410:
The sprints continue with the 100m hurdle heats from 14:44 BST, featuring a dash of Australian world champion Sally Pearson with a hint of Britain's Tiffany Porter. The final is at 16:39 BST.
-
1405:
Let me present to you the menu you will be feasting on this afternoon. To start, the women's 100m heats begin at 14:11 BST. Take a touch of reigning Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, mix with current world champion Carmelita Jeter and you have a fiery, exciting mix of sprinting. Britain's Montell Douglas will also be running.

Live pictures on your tellybox now via BBC One and at the top of this page (after refreshing). Yes, even on your mobile telephone. There's no excuse not to watch, really.
-
1350:
Sad news for high jumper Blanka Vlasic. The Croatian has long been a staple of women's high jumping on the international stage, but a number of injuries have proved a hurdle too high for the 2008 Olympic silver medallist. Vlasic has ruled herself out of the London Olympics and said via her website: "I will not be able to get into the top shape in time for the Olympic Games. It is the best thing to stay home and get the healing process to the end."
-
Tom Fordyce, Chief sports writer, BBC SportOn Twitter: Blanka Vlasic out of the Olympics: "I will not be able to get into top shape in time ... I'm not interested in jumping below my usual level."
-
1340:
Good afternoon, by the way, and welcome to the second and final day of the London Grand Prix. As well as Idowu and Ohuruogu, also flying the Union Jack today will be Andrew Osagie (800m), Yamile Aldama (triple jump) and recent European bronze medallist Danny Talbot. Watch them all live on BBC One from 14:00 BST.
-
Tom Fordyce, BBC's chief sports writer at Crystal Palace
"Big afternoon for Phillips Idowu here. Having not competed for the past month this is his last chance before the Olympics to show the watching world what sort of shape he's in. He insists he hasn't been injured and has instead been keeping a deliberate low profile, but with current world champion Christian Taylor in the field it will be a mighty tough return. Look out too for reigning Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu taking on world champion Amantle Montsho, plus Australia's peerless sprint hurdler Sally Pearson - a red-hot favourite for gold in London."
-
1332:
Speaking of delightful performances, what about that superb showing from British heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson who became World Junior long jump champion yesterday.Johnson-Thompson broke Jessica Ennis's junior heptathlon record back in May and will be someone to look out for this summer in London.
-
1330:
It might be mid-July but I'm just as shocked as you that there is bright sunshine for the final day of the London Grand Prix. Yesterday, it was wet and miserable at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre but athletics fans were treated to some delightful performances from Perri Shakes-Drayton and Mo Farah.
