Manchester United's new signings, Ander Herrera, 24, and Luke Shaw, 18, have received a warm welcome from their new team-mates. Striker Wayne Rooney   tweeted: "@LukeShaw3 welcome to @ManUtd lad. @anderherrera8 welcome to @ManUtd mate." Midfielder Michael Carrick   tweeted: "You will love it at this great club. See you soon boys." Winger Ashley Young   wrote on Twitter: "Welcome... to The Biggest Club In The World! Look forward to seeing you boys soon!"

In a Twitter Q&A, former Manchester United defender and BBC World Cup pundit Rio Ferdinand said his former club should re-sign French midfielder Paul Pogba from Juventus  and buy Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane, 23.
