0919:EURO 2020
Martin Lipton, Chief Football writer at the Daily Mirror, on 5 live's Your Call: "You would lose the build up and intensity of a single host country.
"I was in Krakow and it was like a party every day and you would unquestionably lose that because it would be more of a fleeting arrival of the tournament and then move on."
-
0922:
BBC Radio 5 liveEURO 2020Former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves tells 5 live he is in favour of several cities hosting Euro 2020.
"I think it's a great idea, I'm surprised why they haven't come up with it earlier," he says. "Europe is an easily accessible place, with flights of one or two hours, when you give the World Cup to a place like the USA, where it is six hours from one side to the other. There's a lot of cheap flights these days, they could get the airlines involved."
-
0923:EURO 2020
Laura James, Football Journalist, Northern Ireland on 5 live's Your Call: "I know the Republic of Ireland are definitely interested. They have long been interested in the idea of Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Scotland co-hosting but that's never going to happen."
-
0924:EURO 2020
Chris in London on 5 live's Your Call: "I think it's a really good idea. Poland and Ukraine were never going to build 10 stadiums that are 80,000 - they had stadiums that held 30,000.
"That meant tickets were hard to come by so they were more expensive. Flights were expensive because they can put the prices up. And most fans don't come out for all the games, you go to two or three so the idea of fans hopping around Europe isn't the case."
-
0925:EURO 2020
John in Romford on 5 live's Your Call: "I'm coming at it from the side of the fans. As an Arsenal fan who travels in Europe, flights go up as soon as you get drawn somewhere. Train fares, air fares, ferry fares and hotel prices will all go up."
-
0928:GET INVOLVED
From Steve in Napton, via text: "Absolute madness! One of the appealling characteristics of the Euros is the flavour and feel of the home country. Uefa are just like Fifa, no connection with the fans whatsoever."
From Mike in Newcastle, via text: "Think it goes against the tradition of the tournament. The idea of a host country having the world's gaze is the point of the competition."
Please send in your thoughts via the Twitter hashtag #bbcsportsday.
-
0928:EURO 2020
Nick on 5 live's Your Call: "It's a European competition and it should be held throughout Europe. You could go as far as to say that a World Cup should be held around the world."
-
0930:EURO 2020
Anthony in Sittingbourne on 5 live's Your Call: "I think if they're going to think about it they need to do it geographically so each group is based in a certain area.
"If they do it that way it won't be too difficult for the players and fans can get around easily as well. If it's like that it could work. If it's all over Europe it won't."
-
0931:GET INVOLVED
From Geoff in Hurst, via text: "I don't buy any of the 'difficult to organise' arguments - the Champions League runs all over Europe a dozen times a year."
From Matt in Kettering, via text: "The idea of the Euro Championship being held in different countries seems like a logistical nightmare. Coordinating so many different countries' football associations and police forces will be difficult. Plus, who gets the final? Where do different teams play? Who gets 'home' games?"
-
0932:EURO 2020
Laure James, Football Journalist, Northern Ireland on 5 live's Your Call: "I was interested to see what the French press made of this. Often Michel Platini divides opinions in France.
"But possibly because they already have 2016 in the bag, they are backing it to the hilt. They want France to be part of it and they want bigger collaboration with other European organisations."
-
0936:GET INVOLVED
Luke Donaldson on Twitter: "Shocking decision, part of the tournament is about the unity of the host country and excitement - not this time."
Adam Mundy on Twitter: "I think the Euro 2020 plan is a great idea as long as countries play all their games in same geographical area."
-
0938:GET INVOLVED
Phil in Hartlepool, via text: "Owen Hargreaves shows typical millionaire footballer ignorance of the cost of watching football abroad. The price of flights rockets when there's big demand. The only winners will be the airlines."
Ashley in Sheffield, via text: "Anyone that has gone Inter-railing will know that many cities are quite close together. For example you could have a group based around Prague, Vienna and Bratislava without the fans having to travel too much."

0940:EURO 2020
Tommy in Wiltshire on 5 live's Your Call: "As long as we can get a match in all of our home nations it'll be great."
-

Craig McCrimmon on Twitter: "Stupid idea for the Euros aimed towards the Uefa fat cats getting a wee jolly as they tour Europe."
-
0946:EURO 2020
Marcel Van Der Kraan, Dutch football journalist, on 5 live's Your Call: "I think it's the best thing that's happened to football. Football is for the people, it's for the fans.
"You want as many people from as many countries to enjoy the football. When I went to Poland there weren't as many fans from England and Holland as I would've liked to see. I'm not necessarily a big fan of Platini but I think it's brilliant. You won't have to fans travelling from England to Turkey because teams can stay in their regions. There will also be far less crowd trouble because the police won't have as much to do."

Dan Delaney on Twitter: "Do this & may as well go whole way & let qualified nations host home matches in front of their home fans. Awful idea from Uefa."
Rory Boyle on Twitter: "It's going to be embarrassing for Uefa when they realise this is a bad idea. Extra cost for fans, less atmosphere, awful idea!"
-
0953:GET INVOLVED
From Jonathan in Manchester, via text: "Why not stop the process of bidding and let each European nation wait for its 'turn' to host? Cheaper and fairer."
From David, via text: "Surely the Eurovision idea is already in place for the qualifying rounds? The concept of a tournament is that players and fans meet and share and learn from each. This would be lost in the Platini proposal which is surely a way of getting out of a Uefa-made mess!"
-
0954:EURO 2020
Marcel Van Der Kraan , Dutch football journalist, on 5 live's Your Call: "It's obvious that the 12 Fifa top ranking countries will probably get games anyway - they will get one city at least.
"Wembley is the favourite for the final. Logistically I can't see why people are worrying. If England play one or two matches at Wembley, thousands of England fans will get to see those games, much more than if it was in Turkey."
-
0957:GET INVOLVED

-
0958:EURO 2020
Malcolm Clarke, Football Supporters Federation, on 5 live's Your Call: "I hope that Uefa do a proper consultation with Football Supporters Europe.
"We don't want to lose fans having the chance to go to different countries and enjoy the culture and the stadiums. I think that's possible and it could work but we want that consultation."

1002:EURO 2020
Alastair in Warwickshire on 5 live's Your Call: "I think everyone's talking about an either or situation here and it doesn't have to be that. There's no reason why this can't happen with one in three tournaments so we can have the host country sometimes and this idea of a hub group stage in other years.
"The average Scotsman or Welshman is never going to get the chance to host this event so if every third tournament involved the little countries it would be nice. "
