Rangers striker Francisco Sandaza could make his return from a fractured cheekbone against Elgin in the Scottish Cup fourth round on Sunday.

The Sydney Morning Herald reporting on Ricky Ponting's retirement from Test cricket: "The entire Australian squad turned up for the press conference on Thursday in Perth where Ponting made his announcement. Australian skipper Michael Clarke broke down as he addressed Ponting's retirement. ''I didn't have a feeling it was coming,'' Clarke said. ''Ricky spoke to me after the Adelaide Test match . . . he'd made his decision over the last little while, the last few days. The boys are obviously hurting at the moment. He's been an amazing player for a long time.''

Former Australia batsman Justin Langer, on Ricky Ponting's retirement, tells Radio 5 live: "It used to make me sick when the great Ricky Ponting walked out onto the ground and England fans booed him. I never quite got that. It was disrespectful and hard to stomach, but I am sure that he will be admired in England now that he has retired. He will leave the game as a legend."
