    Dani Pedrosa closed the gap on championship leader Jorge Lorenzo by winning the Indianapolis MotoGP.

    Johan Mjallby has confirmed that midfielder Ki Sung-yueng wants to leave Celtic.

    The South Korean, 23, has not returned from playing for his country at the Olympics amid speculation Barclays Premier League side Swansea are poised to launch a £6m bid.

    Before flying out from Glasgow airport for the first leg of their Champions League play-off clash with Helsingborg tomorrow, Celtic assistant manager Mjallby said: "Ki is not travelling. He is keen to move on and the club is in discussion with another club so we have to wait and see what happens."

    Danny Welbeck says Sir Alex Ferguson challenged Manchester United's young players to use missing out on the Premier League title on the final day of last season as motivation for the rest of their careers.

    "I've only trained twice since I came out of hospital, so I am pleased to get through the whole match," he said.

    Basile de Carvalho is considering his future at Bulgaria's Levski Sofia after he was racially abused by Levski fans and stewards following a 3-1 win over Botev Plovdiv on Sunday.

    The 30-year-old was targeted by a section of Levski fans, who directed racial chants, made monkey noises and threw a banana at him.

    De Carvalho reacted angrily to the abuse, sparking a melee in which one steward tried to attack the player. Local reports claim the striker told several team mates he would consider leaving the club.

    The Aviva Premiership will trial the use of a so-called 'concussion bin' and extended powers for the television match official in the forthcoming season.

    Players will be required to leave the field for five minutes to undergo cognitive tests if the team doctor or referee suspects they may have suffered concussion.

    If that initial suspicion is confirmed in a pitch-side assessment, the concussed player will not be allowed to return and the temporary substitution will be made a permanent one.

    Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani confirmed the possible exchange between the rival clubs after the Rossoneri's 3-2 defeat by Serie A champions Juventus in the Berlusconi Trophy friendly on Sunday.

    He said: "Talks are ongoing. Antonio has asked to be sold, let's see what happens. The most probable scenario is a swap."

    Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has responded to reports that he is surplus to requirements at Anfield by insisting he is determined to fight his way back into Reds manager Brendan Rodgers's plans.

    "I am happy at Liverpool and why would I leave after a year? There is no point," Adam explained in the Metro.

    "I am open enough to say I have had a conversation with the manager but for me I'm not going anywhere. I want to play this year and hopefully I get the opportunity to do that."

    Adam has been linked with moves to Fulham, Everton and Stoke.

    Lance Armstrong's legal action against the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has been dismissed in court. The seven-time Tour de France winner was charged by USADA in June with using performance-enhancing drugs.
