BBC Sport launched a new-look mobile browser site tailored to work across the
growing range of mobile devices,
at the end of 2012 and in early 2013 followed this up with a dedicated free UK app for
devices. The app is also available overseas on both
BBC Sport app updates on the go
Both the mobile browser site and app use the latest responsive design technology and so automatically scale to fit different sized screens. The Apple app also allows users to customise their own version of the BBC Sport site according to their sporting tastes. This means a user can add a sport to their favourites on the menu bar or remove any of the presets they are less interested in.
A future enhancement will also make it possible to add your football team as a favourite - making it even easier to quickly get your club's news.
Statistics are also at the heart of the new offering; there are new pages for live scores and football fixtures, results and tables and also live pages for every Premier League game, as well as a host of other new features.
In future, it will be possible to watch live video and highlights on both the mobile site and app while the app already includes prominent links to BBC Radio 5 live and 5 live sports extra, so you can listen to our radio output.
A growing proportion of the BBC Sport audience arrive at the site via mobile devices - at weekends up to two million people a day access the site via a mobile device, with traffic peaking while football and other sports are taking place.
The new BBC Sport mobile app makes it even easier to listen to BBC Radio 5 live and 5 live sports extra when you are out and about.
"We deliberately set out to use patterns that users recognise from others' apps and we'll continue to do this in the other native features we'll add to the app over the next year or so," writes Lucie McLean, executive product manager for BBC Future Media,
in a BBC blog.
You can then save this page as a bookmark or favourite, so you can find it again easily. Keep an eye on this page for future developments, including news on the forthcoming roll-out of the Android app.
