Field Office Leader Hannah is the only member of the team who worked for MI5 before the bomb went off in London. With MI5 being completely restructured following the attack, Hannah was relocated, to run Field Office 19, where she personally hand picked each member of her team.

Her great leadership skills, as well as her brilliant insight and intelligence, mean that the team have an enormous amount of respect for her; as she does for them. She's a warm and likeable member of Field Office 19, who brings with her extensive MI5 experience and knowledge.

As a fan of Spooks, Joanne jumped at the chance to be part of Spooks: Code 9. "Hannah is a great character to play; quite ballsy, very intelligent and very patriotic," explains Joanne. "She really cares for her country. Plus I thought it would be fun to get to be the boss for a change!"

The life of a spy seems to be full of excitement, danger and intrigue but portraying it on screen didn't tempt the Yorkshire born actress into pursuing the career for real: "Although I did really enjoy the running and physical side of Spooks: Code 9, I'm not so sure I could do it in real life," laughs Joanne. "Maybe I could stretch to being a desk officer and sourcing information!"

Joanne's extensive TV career began with her role as scheming, single mum Zoe Tattersall in Coronation Street. Her television credits include Danielle Cable: Eyewitness, Joanne Lees: Murder in the Outback, See No Evil: The Moors Murders, Life on Mars, The Street and Missing.
