One
of Sheffield's brightest new local bands continued their rise to
stardom at the Leadmill.
Trap
2's rapidly growing loyal army of fans made the pilgrimage to the
'Mill to witness the six piece unleash a powerful display of indie
rock.
The
progress the band have made in the last year was immediately evident,
with singer Mike Hughs delaying his entrance onto the stage showing
they are growing increasingly confident in using the tricks of the
trade.
However
Hughs' tricks didn't stop there. A brilliant range and a love of
shaking his wavey mop make him the perfect frontman.
The
rest of the band each play their part magnificently contributing
to the dynamic sound which is Trap 2's most predominant feature.
Songs
like "Get yourself Together" and "Don't want it to Stop" were notable
high points - concise pieces of rock which blend contemporary influences
with a brilliantly bluesy guitar.
Trap
2 are living proof that there is plenty of life left in the guitar
band, especially when performed with such vigour and enthusiasm,
not to mention a visible hunger that seems to be growing as fast
as their reputation.
