hard 2 please
Well, it;s a right dump inside, i went there a few weeks ago, first time in a while. wish a aint. it's dark a dismal, well it's not as bad as the Ball next door that place is like a dungeon, and that's being nice.

I have spent much of my time in the greyhound checking out the birds, not the old birds in the pub but the pigeon races, I often stand outside in the summer with a pint of the best in one hand and a packet of pork scratchings in the other .
Amy - Ecclesfield
Its a dowdy pub for old men. Its smells of wet dogs and reminds me of the Nags Head from Only Fools and Horses. A chap who props up the bar also looks like Mickey Pearce!

I have worked in this pub and enjoyed every minute of it and it is a pub where you can go out and not look over your shoulder worried about things to kick off!! Good place to meet and have a chat and everyone is very friendly whether you are a local or not!!!
fran

Good review. What can I say this is a good pub. I have worked there for nearly 10 years, met my husband there and had part of my wedding celebrations there. Although the piano is no longer a feature we have good organist now on a Sunday night for a good old fashioned sing a long.
James Bond ( no i'm not related)
I go there quite often as i live locally, full of friendly people who are always willing to lend a hand.

Hey !! We just need to find Barry and Larry and then we have the full set!!!
Tony - sorry top disappoint but I don't think I am your father, I don't know of any sons and I left Sheffield about 12 years ago. Good luck in the search though.

I was interested to see the name Garry Bond too, it sounds just like mine.

I have not been to the Greyhound but I was interested to see the name Garry Bond on the website.
I think it may be my father who I have been looking to find for a number of years. Please could you contact me with any information, ie an email address.

My parents have lived in Ecclesfield for over 30 years and therefore I know The Greyhound very well. It's strange but you can often see whole generations of families all in the poub at the same time, grandparents, parents and children (although obvoiously not kids any more). There's often an old bloke vamping on and ol piano and it's heaving on any Saturday night and holiday weekend - a great local pub!
