Bizarrely,
I thought we played better on Tuesday (when we lost 2-1 to Blackpool),
than we had on the opening day when we won - but I suppose that's
how it goes.
A couple
of errors in defence, and the lack of a proven finisher proved to
be our undoing. As the saying goes - we can concentrate on the league
now!
As
for Bournemouth, a good point I think, and one we would have taken
before the game.
Dean
Gorre got his third goal in three games, which is encouraging, and
we managed to come back from a goal down on two occasions. We would
definitely have lost that game last season.
Unbeaten
in the league, four points gained and up to 8th - things aren't
looking too bad to be honest.
If
only we could buy a striker and a decent left sided midfielder we
would have the makings of a good team. As it is Gudjon, Ronnie and
Noel deserve plenty of credit for getting them organised. If and
when they are allowed to work without their hands tied behind their
backs I think we will see the team getting stronger and stronger.
Another
big week coming up, with the visit of Brighton on Saturday and then
the trip to Blackpool on Monday. I think a point on Saturday will
be a good result, I watched Brighton on Monday and they looked good.
The rumour is that they will sign Kanchelskis before the game, so
that should be interesting.
There
isn't much to look forward to in this division, but Blackpool away
is one of the highlights.
To
get them on a Bank Holiday in August is perfect - or would be -
however I'm going on a stag party for the weekend, organised by
a couple of non Barnsley fans who have no respect for the fixture
list, so my season ticket will gather dust this weekend, and I'll
miss the Blackpool game, what a nightmare!
As
for the game itself, we seem to have played Blackpool loads of times
over the last year or so, and I'm sure the teams know each other
very well. We turned them over in the league at their place last
season - Mike Sheron scoring twice - let's hope he doesn't repeat
the feat this time in his new colours.
Looking
at the other teams in the area - it's great to see Donny Rovers
starting so well, and I hope it continues.
A surprise
draw for Wednesday at home, (lots of complaints about the referee
as usual), I would normally have been delighted to see them drop
points at home like that, but they did let me down for a couple
of hundred quid on the coupon!
Sheff
Utd seem to be the 0-0 draw experts, let's just hope they keep firing
blanks but start conceding goals soon!
As
for Rotherham, I just think it's going to be a long hard season,
and avoiding relegation will be a good result.
It
looks as though these predictions are going to be a weekly part
of this, and I'm yet to get a correct score this season, but I think
Saturday will see us get a 1-1 draw, and it's hard not to back Gorre
for the first.
On
Monday revenge will be on the cards for us, so I'm tipping a 2-1
win for the Super Reds, and I reckon Fallon might just get his season
started with the opener!
Typical
me - forever the optimist!
COME
ON YOU REDS!!!!!!!!
