Shepherd Wheel is a water-powered grinding wheel, standing on the River Porter. Records show that the site was operating from the 1500s to the 1930s. The site has been used to grind cutlery such as table and other domestic knives as well as pen and pocket knives.

The building, water-wheel and machinery have been preserved and can be used to demonstrate the process of water-powered grinding.
