These are their first impressions. ![]() Meeting in Tsinyane, Malealea This diary was part of the Africa Lives Season in 2005"My first impressions of the Malealea High School students were very positive; they were all very friendly and keen to get to know each and everyone of us. Today I also met my pen pal who I wrote to she is called Rethabile." CHELSEA "The Malealea Valley is an incredible place, not just for the amazing buildings, unique scenery and fascinating culture but for the wonderful people who have made me feel like I was born here!" KOSTA "When entering the village of Lesotho I noticed a dramatic change to the scenery and lifestyles of the people there. Whilst coming through the Gates of Paradise, the thing that caught my eye was the wonderful scenery that looked almost unreal, like a charcoal painting in the background. Everyone in Malealea is very friendly and they are all very keen to talk to you about things, unfortunately I haven't met my pen pal yet, but there is more time to come for me to find her." ALEX "When we came through the border you could tell that you were in Malealea because everyone smiled and waved and I seriously didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As we got to the Gates of Paradise all of the younger children came and started talking to us and that made it feel like the Malealea I had been imagining!" LAUREN
"When we arrived at Gates of Paradise, I was amazed by the spectacular scenery that enclosed me! It really was breathtaking as it seemed so imaginary and unreal! Whilst in the Malealea Valley the powerful changes of the culture had a huge impact on me, The young children were very friendly as we were welcomed with smiles and warmth!" REANNE "As we arrived we were stunned to see all the amazing views and excited and friendly faces welcomed us into their village. As we were going through the Gates of Paradise the thing that stood out the most to me was the beautiful scenery. I haven't met my pen pal yet but I'm hoping to do so soon!"
