It was a real treat for Sheffield's drum and bass heads, with Tuesday Club serving up two of the world's best DJs, back-to-back, for a two hour marathon. The result was an inevitably brilliant night of floor shaking shenanigans, with Marky's samba infused beats colliding with Zinc's bass laden assault to the delight of an ecstatic Foundry crowd. With the inimitable Stamina MC on mic duty and the two DJs continually trading places, you couldn't afford to stand still for a second. Starting proceedings with Craggz and Parallel Forces' 'Fizzy Piglets' - Marky ensured that nobody was able to stop moving, even if they wanted to. Undoubtedly his best Sheffield performance to date, the smiling Brazilian delivered dance-floor fillers aplenty, setting a standard that anyone other than Zinc would have been hard pressed to follow. But with tunes like the remix of Taxman's 'The Rebate', he provided an equally punishing fix for the masses inside the venue.

His distinctive style of slowing things down before a devastating drop provoked some of the night's most frenzied movement, and the competition was stiff. The last 45 minutes ushered in some familiar classics, with all but the most restrained of revellers losing control of their senses. Clipz's 'Cocoa' and Bad Company's 'Planet Dust' had the Foundry bubbling, and the tease of the latter's 'Mo Fire' almost sparked an inferno. Stamina underlined his reputation as the scene's premier MC, letting the music breathe and supplementing it with his laid back lyrical flow when necessary. His combination with Marky proved irresistible, and when the night ended with a sing-along performance of the duo's 'LK', the pair sported bigger grins than ever. After causing such mayhem, who could blame them? |
