The Cliff Richard Cathedral

Colette Williams is 63 and has been mad about Cliff Richard since 1963 after switching allegiance from Elvis. Her mum Ray, now 85, joined her and together they've turned their Horsham home into a Cliff Richard Cathedral.

They've lived together ever since and their flat bears witness to lives dedicated to the maestro.

Crazy about Cliff

Hundreds of pictures of Cliff, Cliff gewgaws, Cliff clocks, Cliff mugs and Cliff plates reveal an ardent passion for the handsome singer. And amongst all this there are  many photos of them with the man himself.

Their house is full of Cliff memorabilia

You see, Colette and Ray run the Cliff Richard Sussex and Surrey Fan Club; organising tours, tickets and functions for the legion of men and women devoted to Cliff. They've met him many times and are justly proud of their devotion and association with him.

They even get together with other fans to pool funds to buy Cliff presents for his birthdays and for anniversaries of his time in showbiz. Not all of them are to their liking.  For example, a painting that Cliff requested which cost Colette and Ray £150.

"It's horrible" said Colette. "But it's what he wanted".

Their adoration for Cliff is obvious but the ladies assure me it's just a hobby.  "I don't believe in doing anything obsessive" Colette told me.

Ray agrees, "It's dedication", she says.
