These were put to a BBC panel, comprised of BBC staff and sports people from across the South.  The judging panel for the BBC South Sports Awards met on 8th November.

The panel was:

The winner will be announced live at the BBC South Sports Awards on Sunday 2nd December, which will be broadcast live from 2100 GMT on BBC Radios Berkshire, Oxford, Solent and Southern Counties Radio.
