Scouting activites on Brownsea

The scouts get to grips with a task

On Brownsea Island

Scouts from all over the world have travelled to Brownsea Island for a sunrise ceremony at the birthplace of scouting. We followed them as they set up camp and explored the island.

Life on the island

Once on Brownsea, the scouts set up camp, took part in activities and explored the island.  We were with them as they began their celebrations - and you can see some of the action in our short film.

A scout canoeing on Brownsea

We followed the scouts as they prepared themselves for their first night under the stars, ready for the busy day ahead of them.

On the island, the scouts found games, group tasks and even a 1907 replica camp to take part in.  There was a powerful sense of unity and friendship as hundreds of scouts from different countries and cultures met and shared their enthusiasm for the scouting movement.
