PresentersYou are in: South Today > Presenters > Stuart Norval Stuart NorvalStuart's lived in the South all his life. He was born in Shoreham-by-Sea and grew up in Worthing. "I still remember watching South Today with my Mum and Dad - in those days it was presented by Bruce Parker and Jenni Murray. ![]() Nowadays my hands are full with my own children - three girls to keep me on my toes. I've been at BBC South since 1991, working first as a reporter for BBC Radio Solent. I spent nine months as Isle of Wight reporter, and a year as Portsmouth reporter, before a year long stint presenting Solent's lunchtime and evening news programmes. It was great fun, and taught me a lot about the fun and perils of live broadcasting. I started presenting television news bulletins in 1994, so I've been around a while now! The great thing about the job is being able to broadcast live. It's such a thrill to know you're on air hopefully giving people the best news service you can. There's also the chance to go out and about reporting - meeting the people we broadcast to, and finding out about their lives". Working for South Today is certainly interesting - particularly when it all goes wrong. I've had a crowd of vocal football supporters chanting some rude words about the hat I was wearing during a live report from a pub, and of course there was the morning when there was a camera fault - I appeared bright purple on air!"
