ReportersYou are in: South Today > Reporters > Roger Finn ![]() Roger Finn Roger FinnRoger began his broadcasting career in Hong Kong, then from 1985 he presented Newsround on Childrens' BBC. He's been with South Today since the early nineties. I've been broadcasting now for nearly 30 years. I began in Hong Kong and then moved to London where I got my big break reporting and presenting for Newsround on Childrens' BBC. I've been with South Today since the early nineties and for many years I was the environment correspondent. That gave me the wonderful opportunity to discover all sorts of hidden treasures in the south - as well as sewage plants, construction sites and rubbish dumps! I then co-presented with Sally for a couple of years before going back to my first love - film making. I'm now presenting a regular weekly feature on the countryside called Finn's Country where I meet people with a strong connection to the great outdoors. The idea is to enjoy the countryside - to discover glorious landscapes; to learn more about the south's wildlife; and to see how old traditions are faring today. I'm very keen to gather your ideas for future films. Do you know of someone with a passion for the countryside who would make a good subject for a film? Perhaps someone with a particular knowledge of wildlife; a traditional countryside skill; or involved in an unusual project. Use the form below if you'd like to get in touch.
