![]() River Tweed, Peebles Get away from it allWhen was the last time you visited the theatre? The Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre offers a programme of films, theatre, dance and children's shows. If local history is your thing, why not spend a few hours at the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery? As well as history, they also have contemporary art exhibits. For horticultural inspiration, take the short trip to Kailzie Gardens. Here you can walk the walled garden, take in the Victorian greenhouse and enjoy the borders. The hills around Peebles offer a variety of walking trails. If taking to the water suits you better then the River Tweed is the perfect place for a canoe trip. Peebles has been voted as the '2nd least cloned town in Britain' with a variety of independent shops and retail outlets offering choice away from the usual high street chains.
