The Princess Of Wales' Royal regiment is back in the UK after long service in both Iraq and Afghanistan. The regiment will be marching through local towns in a series of homecoming parades, with major crowds greeting them in Worthing and Guildford. Known as 'The Tigers', the PWRR march in Lewes today, exercising their Freedom of the town led by the Kohima Band. The parade will start and finish at Westgate Street and takes place between 12:20 and 1:15 pm. ![]() Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry, VC. The regiment is the most decorated of all British Army regiments, with 57 Victoria Crosses including the VC awarded to Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry for his gallantry in Iraq. ![]() Lt Col Charlie Sykes Most of the troops have served in Basra training the Iraqi army before the British handover with a number on active service in Afghanistan. Help playing audio/video The 2nd Battalion of the PWRR won tributes for their defence of the Roshan Tower in Afghanistan against enormous Taliban numbers. The battle was likened by former SAS author Andy McNab to Rorke's Drift.
