Living with Addisons

Guildford resident Deana Kenward has Addisons Disease - a rare, chronic condition brought about by the failure of the adrenal glands. She talks to BBC Surrey about her condition and the self help group she founded 25 year ago.

Deana founded the Addison's Disease Self Help Group (ADSHG) 25 years ago after writing to Katie Boyle at the Radio Times. She asked the magazine's agony aunt if there was an existing group but Katie said no, then suggested Deana started one.

Deana did and ran it mostly single handed before being elected President when the ADSHG became a registered charity a few years ago.

She has now been invited to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her work.
