In Video: Sussex Wildlife

Ever wondered what the countryside is like at night? A new project using video cameras can give you a good idea...

There’s a chance to get up close and personal with Sussex wildlife this week – whatever the time of day.

On the radio

Listen out for an interview with Adrian Thomas from the RSPB on Gordon Astley's Mid Morning Sshow today at 1210.

Nature experts at the RSPB reserve in Pulborough Brooks have rigged the area with a series of tiny cameras – to keep an eye on its wild inhabitants.

So far the cameras have picked up deer, badgers, mice and other small mammals.

“They’re normally used during the breeding season but we are using them to see what’s out there now,” said Adrian Thomas of the RSPB.

Visitors to Pulborough Brooks will be able to see daily video of the animals and birds on the reserve. Cameras will be filming overnight throughout the week.
