Kris Mole - Gets the Third Degree

We get in-depth and personal to find out more about you and what you think about life, love and your own little bit of the Universe in Surrey and Sussex!

Give us your full name and nicknames!

Kris Mole.
Nicknames...Hmmm, depends who you talk to, but the ones that spring to mind are: Microphone head, Borat, Stavros.

Tell us what you do for a living

Great Euro Freebie Traveller. On a challenge to get to every EU Capital without any dough, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The town or village where you live?

Southwick - But as far as I'm concerned, that's a part of Brighton. Southwick is only where I sleep. Everything else I do is inside the city.

How would your friends and family describe you?

They'd say I gamble too much, take too many risks, that I'm a smart-mouthed cockey kid, but I'd also like to think that they'd say I'm hilarious!

What is your greatest achievement to date?

Raising over a grand for Cancer Research UK and that amount is still growing. Getting through as much of my Euro Challenge as I have so far. And also being able to pick up as many followers as I have.

What was the worst moment of your life?

There's been a few that I won't talk about. The day we found out that my aunty Susan had cancer was a hard time for me.

Apart from friends and family, what do you love most about your life?

I like the fact that I can make people laugh, it's the most important thing.
Also that I've taken myself out of England for long periods of time, to live in other countries and to experience different ways of life.
Seeing Spurs beat Arsenal 5-1 in my lifetime is something that will always stay with me, too, and means that if I died tomorrow I'd die satisfied.

Family and pets excluded (of course!), what item would you save first in a house fire?

My photo albums

Describe your favourite local place, to someone who has never been there.

Brighton Beach in the summer. Alright, it's not sandy and the water could be considered cold, but the feeling you get when you sit there, next to the water's line, listening to the water crashing gently against the shore, and looking out to sea, knowing that this is your home and realising that you're lucky to live in a place like this, that you don't have to travel for hours to get to the sea. That, for me, is a great feeling. Then in the evening when it fills up with people making small fires and everyone sits around talking, all complete strangers. I can't tell you how much I love it.
I'm originally from South-East London, and when I compare the two places I know I could never ever live in another part of England other than Brighton.

Tell us how your area has changed since you have lived there.

Tesco has taken over. Every time I go away for a while then come back, I'm amazed by how many new Tesco shops have been built.
Also, the Chav situation. There's a lot of them hanging about all around the city, and the number is increasing.

If you could change one thing about the place where you live, what would it be?

The weather. If we had a Mediterranean climate, then there's no doubt in my mind that Brighton would be the best place on the planet.

If money were no object, what would you change in your life?

I'd own and live in one of the old, beautiful buildings in Palmeira Square.

How would you spend your ideal weekend?

A good fry-up and a strong cup of tea, then heading down to the beach with my mates to sit in the sun with a few cold beers. Out in the evening to a few bars and clubs.
Wake up on Sunday to watch Spurs beat Arsenal on the telly, before heading to one of the casinos in the evening for a poker tournament. That'd do me.

The Third Degree
