ICFTS is a monthly club night at Komedia. The crowd was pleasantly mixed - from polka-dotted university freshers to intelligent-looking mid-thirties media types.

Arthouse films played in the corners of the dark bar, mixed in with live footage of the dancefloor. I only recognised a couple of songs, but I loved almost all of them. French hip-hop followed Icelandic pop before being blended seamlessly into German electroclash, keeping the various streams of fashionistas on their toes until the early hours. Drink offers were reasonable (vodka and mixer - £2.50) and dog bowls full of sweets adorned the bar. This might have added to the whimsical air of the night if the sweets didn’t get scattered all over the dance floor and stuck to my shoe. Despite the sticky floor, the club reminded me of a trashy Parisian discothèque, so I’ll definitely be going back. |
