Punk Daddy - Phil Byford

Who's the Punk Daddy?

Thirty years after Johnny Rotten paid his own tribute to the Queen on her Silver Jubilee, one Brighton man still finds a message in the music.

Video Report: Forty Eight Hours

Phil Byford calls himself 'Punk Daddy'; he's a writer and musician for whom punk is still a big part of his life.

In 1977 the British music scene was turned on its head with the release of the Sex Pistols own barbed tribute to the Queen’s Silver Jubilee celebrations; “God Save the Queen.”

“I couldn’t believe the energy, the aggression and the sheer rawness of this stuff .” said Phil.

Phil took us on a trip through town meeting Punks old and new who still feel the music has a lot left to say.
