Making Trade Fair

Bolivia links to Brighton through the work of Barb Wilson - she's part of the city's Fair Trade movement.

Video Report: Forty Eight Hours

Cushion covers and spectacle purses started Barb Wilson's work in Fair Trade - now she works with women from all over the world.

For most of us the family attic is a quiet dusty refuge for things long forgotten. For her it is a store filled to bursting with jewellery, curios, ornaments and clothes from all around  the world.

The goods are the product of trading partnerships with co-operatives and community groups from Bolivia, the Bay of Bengal, Uganda and the 'roof of the world' - Nepal.

"There are an awesome number of people who need to earn a reasonable livelihood and be able to exercise basic choice that we in the privileged West don't even think  about." said Barb.
