South Live

A miniature guitar in a briefcase

Demos:08.01.2006

Brainchild, Juicy Lucy and The Line Divide vie for top spot this week - and we're looking for your views.

So, feeling constructively critical?

Or maybe a mite post-Yule and so slighty jaded?

Whatever your demeanour, take a few moments and check out the three demo hopefuls in this week's Big Bag.

We've got Brainchild, from the Windlesham area of Surrey. The track is called 'Kingmaker',and it comes from their debut EP 'work It Out For Yourself'.

Then there's Juicy Lucy, who hail from Crawley and who describe themselves as a 'four piece playing original material'. See what you think. Their track is called 'Pretty Women'.

And thirdly, The Line Divide, who bring you the track 'PCP.

Take a listen using the links at right, then use the form below to register your overwhelming approval or crushing disapproval. It's simple, really. The judges meet at 8pm on Sunday to give a highly professional view of which track really cooks their bacon.

Juicy Lucy rock. Great band! Got all their stuff, dating back to the late 60s. Unpretentious and exhilerating rock n roll.

Georgie Reynolds
The Line Divide Track is great. I'd love to hear more.

John
Brainchild - RHCPs with a bluesy touch Juicy Lucy - Sounds exactly like Hendrix's Purple Haze so "original material" obviously meaninging "originally someone elses, we just changed the words" The Line Divide - At least they don't scream, and at least their singer sounds a bit like a deepened Brian Johnson. This is definitely my favourite. Their loud, face-tearing riffs definitely sommat to mosh about.

I say Juicy Lucy because i know them and they're awesome! I can't comment on the Line Divide because I haven't listened to any of theeir songs.

Mr Paul S Watts
Go for Juicy Lucy. Great 35 years ago - great now. Check out some of their other great tracks "Who Do You Love"; "She's Mine/She's Yours" or their take on Zappa's "Willie The Pimp".

James
Brainchild's track is pretty good, but the Juicy Lucy song is the best of the three.
