Take
a walk around the historic Surrey town of Farnham. Starting at the
Waggon Yard Car Park. |

The start
for this walk is Waggon Yard Car Park.
Leave the car park by the path tucked away in the south-east corner
and follow it alongside the river until you reach the road.
Turn right onto the bridge. Follow the road round to the right into
Bridge Square.
Stay on the right hand side of the road and head down Red Lion Lane.
When you come to The Maltings car park on the right, turn right and
walk in front of The Maltings, crossing the footbridge and turning
left back into Waggon yard car park.
Cross the car park to the main entrance and turn left into Lower Church
Lane. Go straight into St Andrew’s Churchyard, and follow the path
round by the tower to the north side of the church. Leave the churchyard
on the north side by the path beside the school, turning left at the
end into West Street.
After passing the Georgian building that is Farnham museum you’ll
come to Lion and Lamb yard, on your left. Make your way to the top
of Lion and Lamb yard and turn right in front of Safeway. Continue
past The Hop Blossom and down Long Garden Walk past a row of tiny
cottages leading directly into Castle Street. Cross the road and head
up the hill. Take the narrow road - Park Row - between the almshouses
and the Lord Nelson pub.
When you reach the bowling green on you right, turn left up a narrow
path into Farnham Park. Follow the path up the hill, bearing left
as you reach the top. Leave the park by the entrance by the cricket
ground and, keeping the cricket ground on your left, walk to the road.
Turn left onto the high-level path and follow it downhill to the Castle.
Cross a road called The Borough at the bottom of Castle Street, and
turn right. Follow the road round to the left into Downing Street.
Once in Downing Street, cross over and take the first right into High
Church Lane, passing the Farnham Forge on your left as you head back
to St Andrew’s churchyard.
Turn left before the churchyard into Middle Church
Lane. Then turn left into Lower Church
Lane and return to the Waggon Yard car park.
