It has been another great year of sport in the South East, and we recognised  the region's best sports stars at the BBC South East Sports Awards 2007.

BBC presenter Geoff Clark hosted the night live from Priestfield Stadium in Gillingham on Monday 3rd December 2007.

South East Sports Personality of the Year

The winner is:

Tim Reeves - Sidecar

Tim and his passenger Patrick Farrance finished more than 50 points clear of their nearest rivals this year. Tim won all ten races to win the British Championship. He also won the World Championship for the third time this year, as well as the annual sidecar burnup title for the fifth time.

The other nominees were:

Mushtaq Ahmed - Cricketer

Mushtaq became the country's leading wicket taker with 90 dismissals. He helped Sussex to their third County Championship title in five years. Sussex supporters say he's one of the club's most popular players ever.

Danielle Masters - Golfer

Danielle enjoyed her best season yet with six top twenty finishes. The highlight of her year was second place in the Scottish Open. Danielle is tipped to win her first tournament next season 

Nicki Pedersen - Speedway

Nicki had his best ever season for the Eagles averaging over ten points per meeting. The 30 year-old claimed the World Championship for the second time, winning four of the 11 races.  Nicki was also the Elite League Riders Champion this year.
