Paul Siegert

My name's Paul Siegert and I'm BBC South East Today's political and transport correspondent.

Before joining BBC South East I spent two-and-a-half years working in the north of England for both Yorkshire Television and ITN. Before this I worked for nine years in East Sussex working on various newspapers and then in radio and television.

My first job after leaving college was training to be a spy with MI6 but I soon left after realising it wasn't all beautiful women, vodka Martinis and fast cars.

After being away its nice to be returning to a part of the country I know well and I aim to show that transport and political stories don't have to be told in a boring way.

Away from work I enjoy eating out, red wine and travelling. I have backpacked around India and my dream holiday would be travelling around South America.

My dislikes are poor service and worst of all karaoke which I think should be banned from every pub and club in Europe.
