vere symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases are not being seen quickly enough by specialists say researchers at Southampton University.

Telephone poll reveals patients are not being seen quickly enough.

A survey by them shows that one in five patients needing urgent treatment are not being seen within the recommended 48 hours.

A telephone poll of health workers posing as patients showed that 22% could not get an appointment within two days and some had to wait more than a week.

Researchers say there needs to be better training and staffing.
