Hampshire Police are renewing their enquiries into the death of a Southampton man who died following an attack at a petrol station nearly two years ago.

On February 5th, 1999, Paul Booth set out to visit his girlfriend in Totton. He never reached her.

The 31-year-old stopped at the Lloyds Bank cash machine in commercial road before going on to the Esso garage. He was parked there when three men jumped out, called him by his name and then attacked him on the forecourt.

Somehow he found his way home, which is where he was found, unconscious, later that night. He didn't regain consciousness. The attackers are described as 6ft, 5ft8 and 5ft6. Their vehicle is thought to have been a black Mitsubishi Shogun.

No witnesses have so far come forward, but police hope this renewed appeal will uncover valuable new clues.
