Junior swimmers from all around the South are converging on Southampton today to compete against each other in a selection of swimming events.

The City of Southampton Swimming Club are holding their first Junior Swimming Sprint Meet at the Quays Diving and Swimming complex today.

Young swimmers compete today

Most of the competitions are aimed at children aged 10 or older, although there are relay events for swimmers aged nine. All the events are short distance, and awards will be given to the top eight swimmers in each age group.

The Lord Mayor of Southampton and the President of Hampshire County ASA will present some of the awards.
