Southampton's pop heroes are gearing up for the biggest night of the music business calendar.

Craig David - record nominations

The Brit Awards ceremony is taking place this at earls Court evening with Craig David and Artful Dodger both nominated for gongs.

Teenager Craig David has got the highest number of nominations ever picked up by one artist.

He figuring in the shortlists for six titles including Best Album and Best British Male. However industry sources say he has won nothing.

This years show should have the usual dash of controversy - not least because because US rapper Eminem is on the bill and shortlisted for a prize.

Artful Dodger's debut CD

Coldplay, Westlife, Robbie Williams and Sonique are amongst the acts who will be playing live. U2 are to be given this year's lifetime achievement awards.
