Two of the critically ill children who benefit from the charity exercise event

Fitness fanatics are taking part in a sponsored aerobics session at a Winchester Leisure Centre this weekend.

Its all part of a national fitness campaign run by the Starlight Challenge and health clubs across the country.

In training for the Starlight Challenge

The activities in Winchester include an hour of aerobics followed by an hour of step aerobics, with an hour of circuit training.

Money raised will go towards providing holidays and fun activities for children with critical illnesses.

Meadowside Leisure Centre Instructor Pat Bateson insists the day won't be too gruling on those taking part and to underline the fun aspect of getting fit, all 50 athletes taking part will be in fancy dress!

The Starlight Challenge is one of the biggest annual fundraising campaigns between a single charity and the fitness industry.

It has raised almost £2 million over 9 years, granting the wishes over 1500 critically, chronically and terminally ill children throughout the UK.
