Two Dorset police cars have been rammed during a pursuit. The offending vehicle escaped.

The Causeway where one police car was rammed

The incident began when officers tried to stop a silver four wheel drive vehicle in Spa Road Weymouth.

Officers gave chase when the vehicle failed to stop.

At the causeway at Radipole the police car was rammed several times slightly injuring an officer.

The offending vehicle was spotted later and pursued along farm tracks into the Bride Valley, where the pursuing police car was again rammed.

Police lost the vehicle in the Shipton Gorge area. They are appealing for witnesses.
