Pete Masson and Asandi Darlington, who are based at Lasham airport near Alton, have been competing in the Club Class event at Gawler in South Australia.

Pete Masson won the event and is now the Club Class World Champion.

And the British team are also Club Class World Champions, winning in their class.

The Hampshire pair make up two thirds of the British Team and at 26 and 27 are amongst the youngest competitors taking part.

22 teams from across the world were involved in the prestigious championships.

Along with third member of the team, Richard Hood from Nottinghamshire, they have been flying gruelling speed and distance tasks over inhospitable desert terrain in temperatures above 40 celsius.
