Where are you at the moment and what can you see out the window?
I'm at home in Bath. Out the window at the moment it's just a building site because we're doing loads of work on the house!

How did you all meet?
Just through being in bands really. Basically me and the guitarist have always been friends - we started playing guitar together when we were eight and we've just been planning being in a band ever since! Then, we met the other two through other bands and we formed the band.

How did you come up with your name?
It's got slight references to previous incarnations which are secret - and we also wrote down a list of about 300-400 names. We wanted something different and our name just kept jumping out at us from the list.

Are you looking forward to the tour?

Yeah! Touring for us is what it's all about so every tour we get to do is better than the last. We've been so lucky so far this year, we've already toured with Million Dead, Biffy Clyro, This Girl, InMe, Hidding Place, the list goes on. We just love touring, it's great.

What kind of tour bus have you got?

We've got our own little splitter van that we've converted ourselves and drive ourselves.

You're gigs are building up quite a reputation...
For us putting on a show is really important. We go out there to make the most of what we have. We treat every gig like it's our last gig so it's really important that we convey that because it's important that everything's on the edge. That's how we like to do our shows - teetering on the edge of destruction!

Have you ever hurt yourself?

Yeah, in fact I think on the last tour I really buggered up both my feet by jumping onto the crowd barrier. Every show I was jumping off the barrier into the crowd. I thought I'd broken both my feet and for a week I was in quite a lot of pain, but I think I just sprained them really badly in the end - but that's about the worse I've done!

How does it feel to have your debut album coming out in a few weeks?
It's great. It's a long time coming for us. The album was recorded about a year ago and it's like a 'best of' of us over the last five years because it's a reflection of the last five years of our lives. It has the paranoia's and the anger and the joys that we've all gone through.

How did you end up getting Foo Fighter's producer Chris Sheldon?
It was mainly through blackmail and violence. In the end he just seemed to get on with us and said that he'd like to do it and we were very, very chuffed. He really showed us the ropes in the studio, before that we'd only really done live stuff, so he made us feel at home and we were very pleased with what he did for us.

What's the best thing about Bath?
It's just so peaceful. It's one of those places where you can walk for five minutes and you're in the country - it's just like a small city. It's so beautiful. We've been to every town in this country pretty much and I'd say it was up there with the best of them if not the best, just for beauty.

What was the last gig or festival that you went to?
I think it was Reading last year, but I can't remember much due to the excessive amount of living I did! And the only gigs we've been to for the last year have been ours!

Have any of you got any strange or hidden talents?
We've all got a talent for whipping each other to let out our frustrations we've had quite a few evenings of debauchery and whippings which is quite a laugh. It lets out the tensions that you've built up during the day. That's about it, apart from a few secret things that we shouldn't really let out.

Do you enjoy coming to the Joiners?

It's like our second spiritual home, we love it there.
