us your view of the gig |

Welcome
to BBC Southampton's U-Review page - this is where you can be a top
music journo and write about any concerts or gigs you've seen recently.

|
 |
Have you
ever seen a band and thought they were so good (or so bad), that you
wanted to tell as many people as possible just what you thought of
them?
Well here's your chance to publish a U-Review here on the BBC Southampton
website - it can be a about a massive headline concert, or a band
you saw in the pub - just use the form
below.
You simply have to tell us what you saw, heard,
and what you thought about it.
 |
| Was
the crowd up for it? |
Try
and make your U-review direct and uncomplicated. Just pick up on a
striking moment, or describe the general feel of the night.
What were the best songs? What did the band do and say inbetween tracks?
What did they look like?
Describe the stage and lighting. What was the atmosphere like? How
did the audience react?
Perhaps start with an interesting fact or an observation of your own.
Try not to give us a long history of a band or artist.
If you're bursting with such information, write a few points for the
FACTS column that's on the left-hand side of some pages.
Be fair - If you really hated it ... and the rest of the audience
didn't think much of it either, then say so. Don't
say something was good if it wasn't.
But if you thought it was rubbish, but everyone else was having a
great time, try not to let your personal taste make your U-review
unfair.
Keep the writing straightforward, with short sentences. We love commas,
but full stops are pretty good too.
Between 200 and 300 words is about right, up to 400 if you're really
entertaining. Your piece will be edited by one of our journalists,
but with a light touch.
