Where are you from?

Southampton/Bournemouth/
Cranborne

Describe your music.
getAmped have used an industrial blender to fuse their diverse influences into their own unique underground alt pop. A barrage of catchy melodies, off-beat, quirky guitar riffs, and gutsy driving rhythms, getAmped sound like Peter Gabriel, Slayer, and Toot and the Maytals jamming on a beach. Sound weird? With the lights on, volume up, and adrenaline in full flow it all makes perfect sense.
When did the band form?
February 2004
How did the band get its name?
'Amped' is surf slang for getting pumped up and excited. the band surf, and it seemed right for the music. So we chose 'Amped' only to find out a Canadian band had beaten us to it. Our web address had always been getamped.co.uk so we just added the 'get' bit!
Musical influences:
getAmped's music is a unique fusion of elements from punk rock, metal, drum n bass, hip hop and reggae. The band's surfing roots have been tinged with their own individual and diverse tastes in music, from Rick's obsession with the late 70's punk and new wave scenes in the UK, Tim's lust for satanic metal, to Dougal's passion for 90's US rock and grunge acts.
The band's most memorable gig:
Rip Curl Boardmasters, on Fistral Beach, Newquay last summer

Black Clouds (Edd's Song)
Interesting band fact:

getAmped have had their music featured on x-sport films and TV shows from America to Australia to Austria.
The band also got to the number 2 slot in Radio1's unsigned chart on the OneMusic website.
