We
first heard of Bushbaby back in October 2002, but since then their
CD, Tinsel Town, arrived here at BBC Southampton for review. Read
it here
A sound engineer, an animator and a computer analyst with a chemistry
degree... an experimental eastern European electro-pop band perhaps?
Couldn't be more wrong. Bushbaby play light grunge of the less depressing
variety, right here in the south of England.

Formed
in '98, Bushbaby celebrated their first summer together with a five
track EP. Radio play generated much interest and gigs followed in
the UK and Europe. Things were looking good.
Then, in '99 they discovered that not all recording deals are equal.
Their debut album was released on a US label but the band felt that
they were not being promoted properly and soon they were unsigned
once more.

Undeterred,
they sent an offering to Metal hammer magazine, who declared it 'demo
of the month' and Bushbaby were soon negotiating a London based management
deal.
Pretty soon the album was re-released in the UK with snazzy new artwork.
Skinny was their first UK single, released as a free mp3 download.
It topped the grunge download chart for four weeks.
