The winners of the Best Album at the Q Awards for Hopes And Fears are finally back in the UK to share that music with us.

Released back in May 2004 it went straight in at number one in the UK and has almost gone triple-platinum, so it's no surprise the UK tour sold out quickly.

Check out our interview with drummer Richard from June 2004.

Keane cancelled their last few gigs due to Tom having a throat infection. Southampton was the band's first night back.

Launching straight into the classic Everybody's Changing, Tom was clearly over his vocal troubles although he did say he was still suffering and asked us to sing up - as if we needed to be asked!

Making their way through the Hopes And Fears album we were treated to some old songs and even a taste of what is to come with a few new tracks like Nothing In Your Way.

Tom isn't like most band frontmen, rather than shouting any old nonsense that comes into his head he takes time to speak to the crowd and explain songs with the stories behind them. You feel he really appreciates you being there.

For instance we are told Bend And Break is about going from bad times to good times. She Has No Time written by Tim is about somebody that let Tom down.

Tom also commented how good it is to see people singing their songs and how you should feel OK about singing you heart out and showing how you feel - and sing his heart out he did.

Despite recovering from an infection Tom managed to hit all the high melodies as if he was in a recording studio. He did get a bit croaky at the end but it almost added to the finale of Bedshaped.

Richard was fantastic on drums and Tim played the piano like a man possessed, and the passion is clearly felt as he hammers out all the notes on the keyboard.

Where were Keane when I was having to learn Beethoven on the piano at school?
