This year's 17 hour dance marathon in the Hampshire countryside is another star-packed festival, with top live acts and DJ's from around the world packing their headphones to head for the first party of the summer.

Cockney geezer Mike Skinner will headline the Live Arena this year, with his down to earth, day to day narrative driven garage tunes. He'll be joined in the festival's biggest arena by electro/folk rocker Beck.

Beck
Beck, let's hope he won't need his brolly!

This will be the Californian's only UK festival appearance this year. His quirky, slacker attitude hit a nerve in the mid-nineties and with the scorching new album Guero under his belt, he's bound to deliver a set to remember.

Leftfield hip-hop rapper Roots Manuva is also gearing up to appear on the live stage - as are
electro-rock revivalists The Bravery. The New York five-piece who are described as a cross between Duran Duran and New Order are sure to start a dance rampage with their infectious tunes.

Mylo, the biggest dance act from the Isle of Skye will also be tearing it up in the Live Arena with his fun, direct hooky dance music which will have you shaking your hips.

The Human League
The Human League in 1989

Electronic superstars, The Human League have been announced as Arena 5's headliners. No party is complete without them - and you just know you'll find yourself on the dancefloor strutting your stuff, belting out Don't You Want Me Baby at the top of your voice!

With their blend of disco beats, pop-punk and geometric haircuts they started pop music's love affair with the synthesiser over 25 years ago.

This year the festival has taken on a new definition: "The old formula of dance festivals doesn't work any more," says Darren Hughes of We Love…

Homelands
Homelands -the most fun you'll ever have in a field in Hampshire.

"Homelands came from the superclubbing phenomena. Since then Homelands has grown organically, and the festival is a true representation of what's going on in clubland."

"Everyone loves good music - that doesn't change. What's exciting is the extremes between the acts we're bringing. This isn't solely a dance music event anymore."

Groove Armada will also float into The Bowl with a funkadelic DJ set on the outdoor stage. Their blinding tunes which are bound to include Superstylin' and Purple Haze will certainly crank things up in The Bowl.

James Zabiela
James Zabiela in action at last year's festival
Legendary DJs Grandmaster Flash, the inventor of the quick mix will be back at the festival alongside hip-hip giant Jazzy Jeff who's masterful chopping and cutting turntable skills will keep you on your toes.

No Homelands would be complete without a bit of deck action from Southampton's wizard DJ James Zabiela who'll be pumping out his signature gnarly basslines, scratches, warps and twists - your feet won't let up for a second!

Another big name on the list is Dimitri From Paris who'll be making a rare festival appearance with his blend of soulful house and disco in Arena 2 which will be fitted with a bespoke sprung floor - so you should literally feel the music!
